יש לי תחושה חזקה שז'קטי ג'ינס חזרו (ואולי ג'ואן ריברס אמרה את זה במשטרת האופנה?), ואין תירוץ יותר טוב מזה בכדי להתאחד עם אהבת נעורים.
זה קרה בחופש הגדול שלפני כיתה י"ב. נסעתי לרמת אביב לחנוך את הקניון החדש, כשראיתי רחוק ממולי, כמו נווה מדבר נחשק, את הלוגו של זארה. מעולם לא שמעתי על המותג הזה לפני, אבל הלוגו סימל הבטחה למשהו שונה. לא עוד קסטרו. לא עוד ראש אינדיאני (אלה היו זמנים קשים, ילדים). חו"ל. מעטים המקרים בהם אנחנו זוכים לעמוד על סף היסטוריה ויודעים לזכור ולהעריך את אותו הרגע הזה, שממנו והלאה, הכל משתנה.
שם בתוך החנות, שהיתה גדולה יותר מכל מה שהיה עד אז בארץ, נחו להם שלל בגדים צבעוניים מפשתן על הקולבים. בקושי רב, ובמאמצים ניכרים חיפשתי אחר משהו שיתאים לי ולא לאמא שלי, ואז ראיתי את הז'קט, שעלה רק 100 ₪. אני לא רוצה להיות דרמטית, אבל הזמן נעמד מלכת. אני ראיתי אותו, והוא ראה אותי, וידעתי, שלא מדובר בעוד ז'קט ג'ינס איכותי וזול, היתה זו תחילתה של חברות ארוכה.

I have a strong feeling that jeans jackets are back (or did Joan Rivers say it on "fashion police"?), and what better an excuse to reunite with an old love.
It took place on the summer before senior year. I went to Ramat Aviv to check out the new mall when I saw from the distance, like an oasis, the Zara logo. I never heard of that brand before, but the logo promised something different, no more Castro, no more "Rosh Indiani" (those were difficult times, children). Abroad. There are few moments like that, when you stand on the verge of history and you get to remember and appreciate that moment in time, from which on, every thing changes.
There inside the store, that was greater than any other store in Israel, laid a variety of colorful linen clothes. With a lot of effort I looked for something that will suit me, and not my mother, and than I saw the jacket. It only cost 100 NIS. Now, I don’t want to be over dramatic, but time stood still. I saw it and it saw me, and I knew that it's not another chip jeans jacket, this was the beginning of a long lasting friendship.
